TWO SHORT FILMS WITH MATTHEW / VENICE, CALIFORNIA

FILM ONE / THE SCARF

The everyday knot.

The one Matthew reaches for most mornings. A soft loop that sits close to the throat and stays put, dressed up or down.

  1. 01

Drape it around your neck, one end hanging longer than the other.

  2. 02

Cross the long end over the short, then up and through the loop at your throat.

  3. 03

Snug it gently and let both ends fall. Adjust until it sits the way you like.

The folded square.

For the bandana and the neck scarves. A neat triangle and a single knot that holds its shape from morning to night.

  1. 01

Fold the square corner to corner into a clean triangle.

  2. 02

Roll the long folded edge toward the point until you reach the width you want.

  3. 03

Wrap it around your neck and tie a simple knot, letting the point sit to one side.

Wear it your way.

There is no wrong way to tie one. These are simply the knots we reach for most. Take what you like, and make them yours.

May the cloth find its own way around you.
