Late Sunday Afternoon

Sustainability is more than just a trend in the fashion world. It's a movement shaping the future of the industry. As a small business creating sustainable scarves, we are at the forefront of this evolution, blending timeless style with eco-friendly practices. Visit Late Sunday Afternoon, where we explore how sustainability is transforming the way people buy and wear scarves.

The Need for Sustainable Fashion

Environmental Impact

The fashion industry is one of the largest polluters in the world with a significant environmental footprint due to:

  • Waste
  • Water consumption
  • Chemical usage

Traditional scarf production often involves synthetic materials and harmful dyes that contribute to pollution. By choosing Late Sunday, you buy into sustainable practices, which we use to reduce this impact and create products that are gentler on the planet.

Zero-Waste Design

Our design process prioritizes zero-waste principles, beginning with sourcing of our dead-stock materials. We carefully select our patterns to minimize fabric waste, and any leftover materials are repurposed into new products, such as bandanas or kerchiefs.

Ethical Manufacturing

We hand-sew most of our products in-house using our diverse team of artisans, mostly by our founder, Matthew. Additionally, we partner with artisans, authors, potters and scarf manufacturers in our local area to create an art collective that enriches the community, which shares our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices. This collaboration ensures that our scarves are made with care, from the sourcing of our materials to the craftily tight stitches that line their edges.

Timeless Style and Versatility

Classic Designs

Our scarves are designed to be timeless and versatile, transcending seasonal trends. By focusing on classic patterns and colors, we create scarf collections that can be cherished and worn for years to come.

Multi-Functional Accessories

Scarves are incredibly versatile accessories. They can be worn as neck scarves, headbands, shawls or even tied to bags for a touch of flair. Our designs reflect this versatility, offering endless styling possibilities.

Innovation and Sustainability
